Who Comes to Camp?

Camp Bon Coeur offers two sessions each summer. Session A is for children ages 7-11 and Session B is for children ages 12-16. Children with heart disease are invited to attend, including those who have had open-heart surgery, transplants or pacemakers. Campers must be between the ages of 7-16 at the time of camp.

Because of the layout of the facility, campers must be able to walk 150 yards, feed, shower and dress themselves unassisted and without extreme fatigue.

Applicants are accepted without regard to race, color, national origin, sex or religion.

Six and seven year old campers will be considered on an individual basis and must be driven to camp.

Fifty campers are accepted for each session.

How Do I Apply?

Before acceptance to camp, all campers must complete the application, authorization and medical forms. Sponsorship applications must be submitted for financial assistance. No camper can come to camp without submitting the required forms by the deadline. All camper applications will be reviewed by the Medical Review Committee prior to acceptance.

Upon acceptance, campers will be notified by mail.

The application form is due in the camp office by May 1st with a non-refundable application fee of $35.00 before December 1st, 2008 and $50.00 after December 1st. This fee is not applied toward the camp tuition. Applications will be received after the deadline on a first-come, first-serve basis if space is available.

Camp medical and authorization forms are due no later than May 1st. Upon receipt of these forms, the Camp Operations Committee reviews each application. Once a camper's application is approved, a camp policy manual is sent with information about his/her session.

Camp Bon Coeur reserves the right to deny a camper entry into camp and/or send a camper home upon the recommendation of the camp's medical staff or the Camp Operations Committee.

How Much Does It Cost?

The cost to attend camp is $1500.00 for ages 7 - 11(for 12 days of camp) and $1,500.00 (for 12 days of camp) for ages 12-16. The camp fee is due and non-refundable by May 1st.

Transportation is not included in the camp fee and is the responsibility of the camper. For information regarding travel arrangements, please call the camp office at 337-233-8437.

Scholarships are available for campers who need assistance paying for camp. For a scholarship application, due December 1st, 2008, call the camp office. Applicants will be notified by May 1st.
